ABE has today published a white paper on Adapting Assessments.
When coronavirus emerged as a global problem, ABE was the first UK awarding organisation to change all its traditional timed exams to open-book. With a very tight timescale this was challenging but our priority was to ensure learning could continue and no one was left behind.
According to a UNESCO survey of 84 countries, only 23 introduced widespread alternative methods of assessment. We know it is the young and disadvantaged who suffer most as a result of delays and disruption to education and assessments.
We believe this should not be allowed to happen and that is why ABE's Director of Global Products and Services, Vicky Mose, has published this white paper to share learning and best practice and to outline our recommendations to policymakers to help avoid another year of delays and disruption.
