Administrative Assistant, Caroline, has a clear plan to use her studies to further her career and go onto a degree before launching her own business. She says, "Believe in yourself this is where success beings" #ABEway. Here's her story:
"My name is Caroline Mandanda, I am Zambian by birth and nationality. I come from a family of five. I am a happily married mother of two.
I obtained my secondary school certificate from Kasamba High school after which I pursued a certificate in Secretarial studies at Evelyn Hone in Zambia. Upon completion, I worked in a business centre for six months before joining D.K Enterprises Limited as a Secretary / Administrative Assistant that was in 2008 to date. In a quest to further my studies in a field that will enhance my administration skills to something better, I decided to pursue a Business Management and Marketing programme with ABE. I am currently pursuing my Diploma Level 5.
Taking up this course has assisted me with technical and organisational skills which I have put to use in my current position. With my current work, I was looking for a flexible programme that would help me build a great career at a convenient pace and, after research with different examination bodies, I found that ABE’s qualifications had the most up-to-date skillset on the market, which could help me to succeed.
ABE is a well-recognised qualification in Zambia; from my research, many big organisations opt to recruit ABE graduates who are much effective in performing tasks. Both the public and employers appreciate the services from ABE. My plan is to further my studies to Level 6 under ABE and apply to bigger institutions if the opportunity arises.
ABE is a good professional qualification which has a global reputation, it is internationally recognised – meaning I am able to work anywhere. It offers a fast track to degree programmes and is cost-effective. Personally, I have benefited from studying with ABE as it has allowed me to study at my own pace (part-time) despite my busy working schedule. With my level 5 qualification, ABE has equipped me with vital knowledge of different theories such as organisational behaviour, management skills, creative problem-solving, and marketing skills. These skills have helped me in my role as an Administrative Assistant at D.K Enterprises Limited a manufacturing company.
H. Jackson Brown, Jr. said, ”The best preparation for tomorrow is doing your best today”, Ephraim Franklin said, “Failing to prepare is preparing to fail”. My tips for study are work hard, make regular study time each week from the very start of the course, believe in yourself, this is where success begins.
My future plans are to earn a degree which is my first goal, then to be involved in professional bodies or associations so that I can build my professional brand which I feel will help me to gain managerial experience as I intend to venture into entrepreneurship. "
