Here is Eon's story:

''My name is Eon Brumigin - a man of faith, from very humble beginnings. I grew up in my beautiful homeland of Guyana - located in South America; I have awesome childhood memories, although I lost the opportunity to be raised by both of my parents because of my father’s death at the tender age of four. My mother who was unable to care for me following my dad’s death, thought it was best for me to live with my extended family. My aunt, who I truly admire, single-handedly did her best to provide for and make our family comfortable. Growing up I was regarded as the least intelligent of my cousins. I struggled academically for the first 15 years of my existence, but I knew that I had something special within. In my adulthood, I migrated to the beautiful and scenic island of Barbados, which I called home before moving to the vibrant twin island state of Trinidad and Tobago, where I currently reside with my wonderful family - my wife and two children. I have always had a vested interest in furthering my education and therefore quickly sought the opportunity to further my studies – but greater than this, I committed myself to much prayer and guidance from the true and living God as to the way forward.

I enjoy the outdoors and keep myself actively involved in activities that allow me to remain fit and spend time outdoors with the people I love. I enjoy hiking as a pastime and love giving back to society by mentoring and assisting university/college students. My desire is that each person is blessed and lives a prosperous life, to soar like an Eagle for the benefit of their family, society, and the globe in general.

The Incorporated Trustees of the Anglican Church in the Diocese of Trinidad and Tobago is a large faith-based non-profit organisation that comprises a total of four regions, thirty parishes, and one district. The parishes are arranged in four regions – three in Trinidad and one in Tobago. The organisation has 4 Archdeacons – one assigned to each region, to whom the Bishop delegates certain responsibilities - the Bishop being the chief administrative official of the Anglican Diocese. Each parish is under the care of the Priest assigned to the parish who is responsible for overseeing the Church.

The organisation owns a portfolio of properties including churches, rectories, schools, halls, and real estate assets - commercial, residential, and tenanted/vacant lands in the amount of approximately TTD $1.5 Billion Dollars, which is equivalent to GBP £182,116,585. 70.

My responsibilities as the Asset/Property Manager are to provide day-to-day leadership, management, guidance, and advice on all asset/property matters, ensuring that all legal and commendable responsibilities are discharged effectively. I lead a team of professionals and technical staff, provide strategic, operational, and financial leadership, direct, manage, and control the daily operations of the property portfolio - and drive the implementation of systems that improve business efficiency while demonstrating good corporate governance in the achievement of targets.

Additionally, I oversee construction and capital improvement projects, ensuring completion in a timely and cost-effective manner. Perform contract administration, and expenditure management of all Diocesan lands, buildings, and other site infrastructure maintenance and projects.

After working just over five years as a Salesman - and earning a Diploma in Civil Engineering, I worked extensively for approximately twelve years within the construction industry in various capacities as Foreman, Construction Supervisor, and Assistant Project Manager; but with a change of location, came a change in career paths as well. Moving from the construction industry, I found property and real estate management quite intriguing.

On the verge of completing the ABE Level 5 Diploma in Business Management, I was employed as a Property Officer at The Incorporated Trustees of the Anglican Church in the Diocese of Trinidad and Tobago. This academic achievement not only assisted me in the position of Property Officer but also opened doors to better career advancement opportunities. Since earning my Bachelor of Arts (Hons) Degree in Business Administration, I was promoted to my current role as Asset/Property Manager.

I was introduced to the ABE Programme via CTS College of Business and Computer Science Ltd., by a friend, an ABE student at the time. I visited the institution and found out about the programme in detail, the information received was interesting especially because of the guarantee of an internationally recognised qualification upon successful completion. The ABE Level 5 Diploma in Business Management allowed me to better understand the dynamic business environment where I engaged more creative strategies for problem-solving, management, research, analytical, interpersonal skills, etc. With much dedication and hard work, I was awarded a “Top Paper Award” (World Prize Winner) for the student obtaining the highest grade in the globe for “Managing Stakeholder Relationships”. The fresh knowledge gained from the programme, enabled me to acquire a new job as a Property Officer at The Incorporated Trustees of the Anglican Church in the Diocese of Trinidad and Tobago. As a highly driven professional - I yearned for more, consequently, I was able to utilise the attained ABE qualifications to enrol in the final year degree programme offered by the University of Hertfordshire. The ABE qualifications armed me with an encyclopaedia of business knowledge and as a result, I earned a Bachelors of Arts Degree in Business Administration with First-Class Honours awarded by the University of Hertfordshire. Within a span of two years - I was promoted to my current role of Asset/Property Manager within the organisation’s Properties Department.

Working for The Incorporated Trustees of the Anglican Church in the Diocese of Trinidad and Tobago has afforded me the incomparable opportunity of giving back to God by serving my fellow men in many different capacities, due to the dynamism of my role within the organisation. This is by far what I enjoy most about my job.

My workdays are never mundane or dismal, there’s always an interesting task to undertake, ranging from interacting with various stakeholders, conducting site visits, and providing day-to-day leadership, management, guidance, and advice on all property/asset matters to the Human Capital of the Property’s Department and Parishes alike, throughout the Anglican Diocese.  Working on preparing, vetting, and drafting a broad spectrum of documents including but not limited to - deeds of conveyance, contract agreements, leases, and licenses which provide the best protection for the organisation including my daily duties, etc.

My advice to anyone beginning ABE studies would be to stay on the course. It is a very detailed and somewhat challenging programme. However, the benefits of successfully completing the programme far outweigh any difficulty you may encounter. In my opinion, ABE offers robust and very current programmes based on highly demanded skill sets within the marketplace; thereby increasing your probability of steady career advancement.''
