''I am Myat Phyu Phyu Lin, currently based in Yangon, Myanmar. I work as the Director in TZTM Group of Companies, Mingalar Thiri Hotel (Nay Pyi Taw), and Hotel Balmi, in addition to my role as the Managing Director of Buildiko Co., Ltd. I earned an Associate Degree in Arts from East Los Angeles College in 2014. Subsequently, I returned to Myanmar from the United States for family matters to work in my family’s businesses, including T.Z.T.M and Mingalar Thiri Hotel. I also hold an International Executive Master of Business Administration in Strategic and Project Management from the Paris Graduate School of Management.

Growing up as the middle child in my family, I felt like I was constantly trying to live up to my parents’ expectations. Both of my siblings are medical doctors, following my father’s dream of all his children becoming doctors. However, I discovered my passion in the business sector. Now, as a married adult with a child of my own, I have decided to pursue a Doctorate programme in the future to fulfil my father’s dream. Since completing my MBA in 2017, I found myself missing the thrill of studying. Consequently, I sought advice from Dr Aye Aye Mar, Founder of Business Institute Yangon, who recommended pursuing an ABE Level 6 diploma. As a mother returning to education after a significant break, I recognised the ABE diploma as an opportunity to stay updated on business trends and follow a structured academic path.

I studied my ABE course at the Business Institute Yangon (BIY) through online classes. BIY provided me with comprehensive study materials, access to experienced tutors, and a supportive learning environment. The flexibility of online learning allowed me to study at my own pace and schedule while balancing work and family responsibilities as a busy mother.

ABE holds a positive impression among the public and employers in Myanmar for its high-quality curricula and real-world business education. With a long-standing presence in the country, many former ABE learners have achieved success in various fields, particularly in business and academia. Because of their expert knowledge and industry-relevant skills, ABE alumni are regarded by many employers as being well-prepared to succeed in the business world. The public views ABE as a reputable institution offering internationally recognised qualifications, acknowledged by top universities, and providing a clear pathway to career advancement.

After completing my ABE studies, I enrolled in the online one-year BA (Hons) Business Administration (top-up) programme with the University of Hertfordshire. I also plan to pursue a Masters degree and a Doctorate degree at the same institution in the future.

The best thing about studying with ABE is the opportunity to acquire practical and industry-specific knowledge through flexible learning methods because of its focus on the application of theoretical concepts to real-world scenarios. For instance, my assignment involving analysis of a bank, where my father works as a risk management director, found it beneficial in providing fresh perspectives and valuable insights for organisational improvement.

My experience at ABE has been invaluable in developing skills for careers in the construction and hospitality sectors. ABE provided a solid foundation for navigating in the competitive and fast-paced business world, equipping me with critical thinking, data analysis, problem-solving, interpersonal, and communication skills. The business ethics and practices I learned through the programme empowered me to make well-informed strategic decisions and foster effective relationships and professional manners with stakeholders.

One tip for achieving success in your studies is making connections between what you are learning and the actual business world. You can get a better understanding of the subject matter and be more equipped to handle future obstacles at work, by comprehending how the theoretical concepts can be used in real-world scenarios.

It is important to imagine yourself at a top strategic management level. This leadership attitude encourages you to approach your studies with broad and strategic perspectives, by considering the long-term implications and potential impacts of your decisions.

Successful study is not merely memorisation of facts and information. It requires a deeper comprehension and analytical approach to the subject matter. Instead of just taking information at face value, we must invest time in developing our critical thinking skills and analysing or evaluating material to obtain a more thorough understanding.

My long-term career goal is to oversee the expansion of our companies while ensuring their sustainability and profitability. I also want to enhance the reputation of our companies within the construction and hotel industries by providing high-quality standards and excellent customer service. My goal is to become a reliable professional who prioritizes client satisfaction by consistently completing tasks within budget and on time.''
