ABE graduates are able to use their acquired knowledge and skills effectively in the workplace.

Immigration officer Sam chose ABE to help him advance in his career and be ready for a senior management position.  Here's his story:

"I am based in the central region of Malawi, Dedza district, the third born son in a family of four children. I finished secondary school level in 2019 then I went to DAPP Dowa teachers training college (TTC) where I was trained as a primary school teacher. Soon after completing the course at DAPP TTC in 2012 I joined the department of Malawi Immigration and Citizenship Services. I started studying the ABE course in January 2020.

I chose to study the ABE course because it offers the best knowledge, which I can apply when doing my day to day duties at my workplace. Studying ABE in Malawi is the best because it is recognised by The National Council of Higher Education which is a regulatory body for tertiary education in Malawi and it also offers the best opportunity and experience in the working environment.

The public and the employers in our country have got a good impression about ABE  programmes because ABE graduates are able to use their acquired knowledge and skills effectively in the workplace. I have much hope that this ABE course will help me a lot - after completing it, I am likely to be promoted to a top position whenever there is a vacancy.

For one to be successful in their studies, she/ he must believe in God, work hard, and they should be committed to their studies. I am planning to finish all ABE levels so that I can explore more practical skills and further upgrade myself."
